Working from Home at Risk of Becoming a Thing of the Past

Yahoo's decision to bring all of its work from home employees back to the office has renewed the work from home debate, but do not expect a stampede of companies to follow suit.

So far, the policy remains popular with some companies.

Some workforce experts argue against the idea, saying at-home workers run the risk of distractions, such as kids and pets.

Others remain in support of the idea.

Wells Fargo Chief Economist, John Silivia says, "It does offer, for a lot of workers, flexibility with respect to their time schedule and, again, perhaps for some people who work part-time or family situations, it is a good option."

Currently, about half the companies in the country allow telecommuting or flex work plans.
