LISA Academy reached out to public school educators to show them its best practices on Friday.

The charter school held a conference at Crowne Plaza in West Little Rock, where students and teachers showed other charter schools and public schools what did and didn't work for them.

"We have found too much testing sometimes doesn't work, so we want to share how we found to walk that tightrope of testing, and not testing, and getting good data," says LISA Academy West principal Luanne Baroni.

Baroni says one of the benefits of being a charter school is having smaller classrooms, so teachers can react and respond a little more quickly and offer more opportunities.
