Rick Shiron won the Hampton mayor special election Tuesday with 184 votes.

Candidates Floyd Gresham had 70 votes and Darrell Donaldson Jr. had 14 votes.

Hampton's special election for mayor came as a result of former mayor Phillip Swofford's resignation last fall.

Mayor elect Shiron will be sworn into office next Monday at the city council meeting.
