A South Arkansas man will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing a Magnolia woman last May.

Robert Harrison, 33, of Emerson, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first-degree murder on Thursday in Columbia County Circuit Court.

He had been charged with capital murder in the death of Glenda Stroman, 74, whose body was found inside her home.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors did not pursue the other charges filed against Harrison, which included residential burglary and theft of property.

Harrison received the maximum sentence for a first-degree murder conviction after entering his guilty plea.
