Jayden Loy, 6, excels at most sports so his parents didn't hesitate to let him hunt right next to his uncle last weekend.
"Since it was youth hunt weekend," said his mother Jennifer Loy-Alston.
To no one's surprise Jayden killed his very first deer, the very first time he tried.
His proud parents took a picture familiar to every skilled huntsmen, kneeling down holding the head of his kill. They then, posted it to facebook.
"Ya'll reposted it and no one agreed with it," Loy-Alston said.
The photo set-off a firestorm with comments pouring in of people who did not agree the photo was a depiction of responsibility and courage.
"They were calling him a serial killer, compared him to Jeffrey Dahmer," she said.
Extremely harsh accusations for a little boy so timid, his eyes welled-up when our camera made him nervous.
His mother said the comparisons to serial killers angered her to say the least.
"For one he's only six-years-old," she said.
She doesn't believe the people who jumped to such extreme conclusions consider where many of the products they use come from.
"The shoes on their feet the belts around their waist that all comes from animals."
Jayden knows nothing about the controversy his picture created and his parents want to keep it that way.
Instead he simply knows his parents are proud he was successful at something he had wanted to accomplish.
An important lesson for any six-year-old.
The family also wanted to make clear they used the deer for meat, something they said man has done for centuries.
