LA Deputy Killed Was SAU Student, Athlete

The community at Southern Arkansas University is mourning the loss of a former student and star athlete who lost his life protecting others.

Jeremy Triche was a deputy at St. John Parish, Louisiana.

Thursday, he and another officer were killed- ambushed during an investigation.

Two others also injured.

Triche was a starting catcher at SAU in 2006 and 2007. His coach said he was a great ballplayer and a great human being.

He leaves behind a wife and a two year old son.
