Thanks for putting FELONY in all caps so I could see it better. Just because something is a FELONY doesn't mean it should be. We could possibly assume the other FELONY may have been firearms because being in possession of marijuana and a gun makes the gun an automatic felony. Let's replace weed with beer. "Home busted with beer and empty beer bottles containing beer residue and boxes used for beer transport. There were also children present and the occupants owned a gun". Sound less threatening now? It shouldn't. The drug laws of this country are what create the hysteria. I can drive down the street in my car with a case of liquor in the trunk and a gun in my waistband and be completely within the law but replace the liquor with weed and I'm a dealer and a felon. We need to top locking up nearly 1 million people per year for non-violent drug offenses and creating more criminals.

When minor children are present during the commission of a FELONY crime, everyone involved in that crime is automatically charged with endangerment. As they should be. As the article states, possession was just one of several felony charge. If there is drug residue on the scales, then they will also be charged with either distribution or intent, and probably manufacturing (growing).

Since when were marijuana or scales deadly? "Oh no, marijuana? Scales? Children? The humanity!" When are we going to stop ruining peoples lives over something that's less deadly than alcohol?
