Little Rock Police Introduces Gun Free Initiative

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: August 5, 2012
Little Rock Police began pushing a new "gun free" initiative across the city over the weekend.

The department is teaming up with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to work in designated areas of the town to reduce the illegal carrying and usage of firearms.

According to a news release, police will review a series of factors when they come in contract with someone carrying a gun. Those factors include the facts of the incident, criminal history of the individual involved, and other factors, to determine if the criteria are met for a federal firearm violation.
