Pope County Couple in Custody for Murder

Saturday night a married couple sits behind bars as Sheriff's deputies said each had a part to play in a murder.
65-year-old, Lee Britton was found shot in his home jut outside of London, Friday (5/18) afternoon.
Andrew James Cody is in the Pope County Jail accused of first degree murder in the death of Lee Britton.
His wife, Sheena Lakay Cody is accused of being an accomplice to the crime.
The neighborhood on Shadow Lane sat quiet Saturday as Pope County crime tape surrounds the home where the Friday afternoon murder took place.
Neighbors and even family members of Britton are all shocked. Nobody seemed to have a full grasp on what actually happened or what caused this crime.
Neighbors couldn't shed much light on why the accused couple would do this but they said they had seen the couple in and out of Britton's home over the last six months, which leads them to believe this was not a random crime.
One neighbor did say he was there when Sheena Cody was arrested, in fact, it happened on his property.
"She come up the hill like she was coming back over here back where it happened at," said Ronnie.... "She turned off the road right here and the county cop was right behind her and he turned his blue lights on and she stopped right here at the end of the driveway... He got her out at gunpoint and just threw the cuffs on her."
One of Lee Britton's son said they seem to think the Cody's did this in retaliation for Britton kicking them out of his home. One or both of them had been staying with Britton.
That's a very different account then what's circulating on the internet.
There is a Facebook group with more than a thousand members. It's supporting AJ Cody and his wife.
They claim Cody was avenging his young daughter who they say Britton had inappropriate contact with..
The Sheriff's office couldn't confirm any of these claims.

Also it makes me angry that these sick child molesters can live were they want to live a few months back a level 4 child molester moved in next door to me I cant even relax anymore when my kids are outside. I hate them and the way there allowed to live and do what they want.

What kind of world do we live in when a child molester can walk away and the parents take justice into there own hands and go to jail is sickening they should be set free all they did is what the messed up government didn't do.

i believe he did it to because i have a friend dating one of Lee's exes and he had molested her daughter so i dont doubt he did...if i was in the same situation i cant say that i wouldve done it any different when it comes to your kids you have to protect the parents looked at it as protecting their child Lee was a child molester and had done it more then once he is a sick man
