DHS Investigating Student Matter at Arkadelphia School
The Arkadelphia Public School District is investigating what a parent tells KARK is a sexual situation taking place between students at a primary school.
A parent of one of the kids involved says that boy students were participating in sexual activity at Peritt Primary School.
Superintendent Donnie Whitten tells us three employees have been suspended and the principal's retirement escalated by about two months based on preliminary information released by the Department of Human Services last week.
Whitten says the report confirmed staff did not act appropriately in reporting the incidents and the principal decided to retire early because she could have faced the same suspension as the other employees.
Occupy Little Rock Head to the Capitol Steps
Overnight, Occupy Little Rock protested their possible eviction at the State Capitol.
Last week, the City told occupiers they must leave their campsite on May 16th for the Riverfest celebration.
Yesterday protesters marched from their 4th Street camp to City Hall.
The protest was peaceful, but one occupier was ticketed for being on the street numerous times.
The occupiers were at City Hall close to four hours holding their general assembly meeting on its steps.
