Poll Says Romney is GOP's Presidential Front Runner

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: June 30, 2011
A new national poll finds former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is currently the Republican with the best chance of defeating President Obama in 2012.

The Zogby Poll shows Romney trailing Obama by just two points, 45 to 42-percent in a survey of nearly 85-hundred likely voters.

The poll also indicates that Romney's potential opponents for the GOP nomination, Sarah Palin and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee trail Obama by much larger margins.

Palin trailed the President by eleven points and Huckabee was behind by nine points.

In addition to his lead in the Zogby Poll, the Boston "Herald" reports Romney is the leader in fund-raising as well, already bringing in three-point-five-million-dollars this year.

Romney has not yet said if he'll be a candidate again.
