District 1 Democratic candidates Scott Ellington and Clark Hall squared off in our studios this afternoon.
Both men acknowledged that jobs are a priority campaign issue in their district.
Scott Ellington also talked about tackling education issues, pushing for passage of a farm bill and boosting our country's military.
Clark Hall says support for senior citizens is also important to put on the nation's agenda.
Hall asked Ellington if he would support him should Hall win the runoff and become the Democratic Party nominee in the race against Rep. Rick Crawford. Ellington said he would support Hall if he wins the race.
In final thoughts, Ellington said he's willing to "reach across party aisles" to get things done while Hall told voters he understands about small businesses, farms and working hard for a living.
The second congressional debate hosted by KARK 4 News is Monday at noon between District 4 Democratic candidates Q. Byrum Hurst and State Sen. Gene Jeffress.
