Bald Knob Man Dies While Jailed in White County

SEARCY, AR - A man has died while in the custody of the White County Sheriff's Office.

Erik Scritchfield, 31, of Bald Knob was found unresponsive this morning in his cell.

He was being held in a single medical cell due to flu-like symptoms.

Deputies attempted CPR, but were unable to revive Scritchfield.

He was pronounced dead at the White County Medical Center.

The State Police are investigating to determine the exact cause of death.

Scritchfield was being held on a Felony Probation Violation out of White County as well as two Misdemeanor Warrants out of other agencies.

Scritchfield was brought into the White County Detention Center Friday at approximately 2:30 pm.
