Wednesday night, school superintendents across the state are keeping a close eye on the storm.

One district keeps parents in the loop about whether its schools are closed by using several methods.

The Pulaski County Special School District tells KARK it wants to be able to tell parents its decision as soon as possible, but sometimes the district has to wait until overnight to do that.

"We have a website they can go to. We also have a call out system that goes to all of our parents of our children. The sooner we can make the call, the better, but, sometimes you just can't," says PCSSD CEO Paul Brewer.

The district tries to make a decision as soon as it can so parents are not left scrambling to find childcare.

"Kids are usually very excited, but parents who have to go to work, try to make arrangements for babysitters, so that's why we try to get the word out as early as we can," says Brewer.

PCSSD adds that it keeps in close contact with the National Weather Service while it makes its decision.
