So, KARK 4's Lauren Trager got inside a Pulaski County Sheriff's deputy's patrol car for their tips on how you can stay safe.
Lt. Chris Ameling says when there's winter weather you should significantly slow your speeds. He does, and allows others to pass. Then:
"Later on down the road when I see them wreck into the retaining wall, I get out and tell them they shouldn't have driven so fast," he said.
It's the bridges, overpasses, hills and curves, he says, that are always the trickiest. His big tip:
"You want to do everything in your power not to hit your brakes," Lt. Ameling said.
But as the weather looks to worsen, this is his biggest piece of advice for you:
"It's best to just stay off the roads."
