Little Rock Police Searching for Hillcrest Home Intrusion Suspect

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Little Rock police are searching for a man suspected of breaking into a person's house, tying them up and assaulting them.

Police say 21-year-old Robert Lee Holmes, Jr. forcefully entered the home shortly after 3:00 Monday morning on Kavanaugh Boulevard, tied up the person living there and then physically assaulted them.

Holmes currently has an active warrant for an aggravated robbery, kidnapping and theft of property stemming from this incident.

Police say Holmes stands 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous.

His last known address is on Allis Street, but he may also have contacts in the 1300 block of West 17th Street, both in Little Rock.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Little Rock Police Department.

The victim had a suggestion for people in the area.

"That you're secure in your home," he said. "That everything's locked properly. If you can afford it have a security system. If you do have a firearm make sure you can get to it easily."

It's something his neighbors are doing now more than ever.

BJ Davis can't believe what happened just a few houses away early Monday morning in his Hillcrest neighborhood.

He said, "Makes me want to keep my pistol close!"

Davis says the scary part is there's only so much you can do.

"Of course if somebody comes in the middle of the night there's not a whole lot you can do about that other than just keep your doors locked. Keep your lights on."

The Davis' keep their house armed with a burglar alarm but say they have a second security system in place: their dogs.

"All of them will bark their heads off if somebody even just walks by on the sidewalk and if somebody comes up on the front porch they're just bouncing off the ceiling."

Taking extra precautions is exactly what the victim says he can take from this.

"Just be observant of what's going on around you."

While everyone may be on high alert, the Davis' have their own sense of security.

Looking down at his labradoodle Davis said, "You know as safe as you can feel with this big dumb nut like this."

The victim did report that he saw two men in his room and that they were using "gang lingo".

As of publication time, there has been no word on the other person.

Again, Holmes is considered armed and dangerous.  If you see him call Little Rock Police.
