Bill Modifying Mandatory Parole for Sex Offenders Clears Committee

A bill that would eliminate mandatory parole requirements for those convicted for sex offenders gets the okay from a Senate Committee.
The bill would give the Arkansas Parole Board the discretion to deny parole for those convicted who are required to register for sex offenses.
As the law currently stands, some offenses require an automatic parole after a certain amount of time behind bars.
The Senate Judiciary Committee gave a "Do Pass" recommendation with no objections to the bill.

Once again legislators salivate over feel good laws that do more harm to the public than good. So tell me, when prisons are overcrowded and you can no longer choose [censored] offenders (who have the 2nd lowest recidivism rate in the country), who do you choose? Because just about everybody else on the list has a greater chance of committing another crime when they get out. So..way to go making the community a more dangerous place while you pat yourselves on the back!
