Young's death has proven to be one loss too many for Fudge, who is now organizing a peaceful march outside the West Campus on Friday.
The shooting that killed Young also injured three others, including a second North Little Rock student.
While the suspects in this case have been arrested by police, students like Fudge believe changes can only come if teens begin standing up and speaking out against violence in their communities.
"The one thing that come from her death is change. Change our surroundings, our friends. That's something we can gain from it," Fudge said.
Fudge said his new slogan to teens is pick up books -- not guns. He thinks the more teens educate themselves to see the world as a bigger place they can be a part of, the more likely it will be that they'll want to make it a safer, instead of scarier place as well.
The march will take place outside North Little Rock High School's west campus at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Fudge is hoping students and others in the community who are tired of living with violence will come out. Back to you.
