North Little Rock High School received a federal grant to purchase 1,000 Nooks for its students.

It's all to help kickoff the "Nook project."

Students are being challenged to celebrate literacy and develop a love for reading, the nooks being placed in their hands to help inspire them.

"If we have something we can touch, an iPhone and iPad and we can read, me myself, I would be more inclined to sit down and read a book, if I could do it from something like a Nook. I think it's great and it will take reading to the next level," said NLR Senior Alexander Watkins.

The students should have their Nooks by next month.

All juniors and seniors will also be able to take their Nooks home everyday.
