Update: Little Rock Police Investigating A Homicide Tonight

UPDATE SUNDAY 8:01 P.M.
A neighbor called police just after noon today after a 15-year-old, who may live at the home, found her father dead in the home at 18th and Schiller.

According to police, 38-year-old Joseph Mccardell died on the scene from a gunshot wound.

His 2005 Nissan Titan truck was taken from the scene and missing until just after 4 p.m.

It was discovered abandoned at 22nd and Scott Street and towed for crime scene processing.

Few other details are available at this time.


ORIGINAL NEWS STORY SUNDAY 6:37 P.M.

Little Rock Police investigating a homicide tonight after a shooting was reported earlier this afternoon.
   
The call came in just after noon from a neighbor.
  
 A 15-year-old who may live at the home was there on the scene at 18th and Schiller.

There they found the man dead from a single gunshot wound.
 
Police Sgt. Cassandra Davis said,  "We don't know the cause of why this happened we haven't been able to establish any forced entry into the residence."

The investigation is just getting under way tonight and the body has been sent to the state crime lab.
