The Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training are hashing out plans to establish an active shooter training plan.

According to the Arkansas State Police, a committee consisting of several law enforcement officials will be formed to direct the training plan.

The committee will be charged with the responsibility of preparing a uniform preparedness training plan for active shooter situations that will be offered to any local schools to use in coordination with local law enforcement agencies.

The training will only be offered upon request from officials of the local school districts, state police say.
