Power Outages Change-Up New Year's Eve Norm

People without power, who usually welcome the new year in their own homes are forced to change it up this year getting away from their New Years Eve norm.
Pretty much everything has been out of the norm for people who may be facing their sixth night in a row without power.
Not only is one family without power, crews were working to take a tree from off the Adams' home.
"That's a pretty heavy something that's come whamming down on a house," July Adams said.
Adams walks around her house surveying the damage from last weeks storm.
Everything came crashing down last Tuesday shortly after Adams pulled her Christmas prime rib out of the oven.
While every house doesn't have a tree coming out of it most of her neighborhood looks about the same.
"I'm sure you've driven around," Adams said. "Foxcroft [Rd.] really does look like a bomb has hit."
Needless to say not many New Years Eve celebrations will go on where nearly every home was still without electricity.
While its never anything big Adams' new year's are typically celebrated right in her home, usually taking care of five grandchildren. It won't happen the same this year though.
"They will not be with me."
Rather, it's going to be the other way around.
"I may be with them," Adams explained. "Because I think their parents are so happy to have electricity that we'll be at one of their houses tonight."
So while it won't be their typical New Years Eve with the kids out celebrating, this year, even with a tree sticking out of their home, it may just be better.
"What could be better than being with your children and your grandchildren."
(Since print-time most homes, including the Adams', have had power restored. The Adams' still have a tree sticking out of theirs though.)
