CDC Expects Severe Flu Season

The Centers for Disease Control is expecting flu season to be a severe one, but preparing for it should be as easy as 1-2-3.

The Health Department says all the talk about getting a flu shot is not an overreaction.

"We're starting to see a big upswing in southern states," said Dr. Gary Wheeler with the Arkansas Department of Health.

The Health Department says a number of factors contribute to the upswing, namely whether people are actually getting the shot.

It warns even a weak strain can catch on quickly since you may be infected and not show symptoms for as many as two days.
