A federal appeals court issued an injunction on Wednesday temporarily blocking the Affordable Care Act's contraception mandate.

The mandate requires employers in Arkansas to provide employees with health care plans that include coverage for contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs.

A Missouri businessman is leading the injunction, saying the mandate infringes on his religious beliefs.

The injunction order is not a final determination on the merits of the case or the constitutionality of the mandate.
