Matt was living his dream of being a husband, father and an anchor. For it to be ripped away before he had a chance to enjoy it, truly upsets me. We know life's not fair but that doesn't make it any easier.
Matt was a great guy. I was happy for Matt when he got the job at THV. While at KNWA, he stayed in touch while covering news around the state. When he was in town, I could always count on a hearty, "Hey Bob, how are you doing man?" followed up by a vice grip of a handshake.
When you saw him having a good time on-air, it was the real deal. He was loving every second and never took a single viewer for granted. I was looking forward to seeing Matt in the field. He brought a freshness to everything he did and that will be missed.

The world lost a beautiful shining star. It's hard to understand the level of pain we all feel right now. Prayers for the Turner family as he leaves behind a beautiful wife and little baby girl.
As a TV anchor, he was special. As a person, he made you feel better just being around him.
God, take good care of Matt for us. He will be missed more than imaginable.
