Each permit authorizes the harvest of one alligator, which must be at least 4 feet long.

You can begin hunting just after sunset on Sept. 14, and the hunt wraps up just before the sun comes up on Monday, Sept. 17.

You can also legally "gun for gators" from Sept. 21 through Monday, Sept. 24.
