The Little Rock police officer accused of manslaughter is still technically "on the job."

But now, the city is trying to change that.

They have informed Officer Josh Hastings that they intend to fire him.

He's got until Monday to decide if he wants to just accept that--or appeal.

Last week, we told you he'd been arrested for manslaughter, accused in the August shooting death of 15-year -old Bobby Moore.

Officer Hastings claimed Moore was barreling towards him in a car when an investigation revealed that the car was in reverse and Moore was shot in the back of the head.

Officer Hastings has pleaded not guilty to the crime. His attorney says there is more to the story.

He's been on paid administrative leave ever since the day of the shooting.

So you're still footing his paycheck.

KARK spoke with Officer Hastings' attorney late Wednesday afternoon. He told us they do plan to appeal.

Count on us to keep you posted on what happens.
