Dr. David: Circumcision Debate

Circumcisions have been performed on baby boys for centuries.

For some parts of the world, religious guidelines recommend the procedure that is performed on baby boys just days after they are born.

These days, some parents are weighing the pros and cons of circumcisions.

Dr. David says the simple procedure does have its benefits, but says parents who want to spare their newborn the pain of a circumcision, it's okay to wait a few years.

He says good hygiene should prevent any problems for the child in the meantime.
