Fireworks Display in Benton September 2nd

A fireworks display will light up the sky in Benton in a couple of weeks.

It will be held on Sunday, September 2, beginning at dusk (about 8:45) at the old Saline County Airport behind Holland Chapel Baptist Church.

The long-awaited show will go on after the lifting of a months-long burn ban that canceled the city's Fourth of July fireworks in combination with the Benton Freedom Festival/God and Country activities.

The Benton mayor says the decision allowing the show was made on Monday after the office was notified by Saline County Judge Lanny Fite about the lifted burn ban.
