Planting seeds for a better future: that's what several groups were working on Saturday near Boone Elementary in North Little Rock.
The Argenta Community Development Corporation, among other groups were helping to grow a whole farm near the school, all to help provide fresh fruit and vegetables to kids and low income families in the area.
And they got help Saturday from a unique organization called Bike and Build.
Cyclists biking across country stop over to work on community projects just like this one.
"This
is basically my last summer to do what I want before being an adult
so I decided to bike across the country," said Bridget Redick, one of the riders.
Bike and Build participants have donated tens of thousands of volunteer hours since the program started.
in the past ten years, 1,600 bicyclists have logged over six million miles, and also raised over 3 million dollars for their various projects.
