"He's taking America on a path towards Europe, and Europe's not working there - it's not going to
work here. Europe's in real trouble," Romney told supporters.
Two days after President Obama formally kicked of his re-election campaign new national polls show the race virtually tied.
A survey of swing state voters by USA Today and Gallop shows a race between Romney and Obama right now would be too close to call. A similar poll by Politico showed the same thing, but had Romney coming out ten points ahead of the president among independent voters.
The president is making his case for re-election in a rare all-positive TV ad set to to run in nine swing battleground states.
The ad states, "Today out auto industry is back, firing on all cylinders, our greatest enemy brought to justice by our greatest heroes, our troops home from Iraq. Instead of losing jobs, we're creating them."
The Romney campaign responded with a new internet ad slamming President Obama's economic record.
