Voters in Arizona will decide Tuesday which Republican candidate might replace Gabrielle Giffords in Congress.

The Democrat resigned from the U.S. House of Representatives in January, one year after she was shot in the head at a political event in Tucson.

Four Republicans face off Tuesday in a primary election to represent their party in the race to fill Giffords' seat. Her former aide Ron Barber is expected to be the Democratic nominee.

The general election to fill the remainder of Giffords' term will be held June 12.
