Swing Voters Cooling on Obama

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: September 13, 2011
President Obama is losing favor with voters who helped put him in the White House.

A new poll out today focuses on swing voters who backed Obama in the 2008 Presidential election but voted for Republicans in the 2010 Congressional races.

Those voters are saying Republicans are more in line with them ideologically and more serious about cutting the budget deficit.

Some 59-percent of voters in that category say they haven't decided whether they'll vote for Obama or his Republican opponent.

The centrist Democratic think tank Third Way conducted the poll that looked at 400 swing voters in a dozen battleground states.
