By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: August 30, 2011
A new poll shows Texas Governor Rick Perry in the top spot among all the Republican presidential hopefuls.

The CNN/ORC International Poll indicates Perry has the support of 27-percent of Republican and right-leaning independent voters across the nation.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney trails at 14-percent followed by undeclared GOP candidate Sarah Palin at 10-percent.

The poll shows much of Perry's support is among Republican voters aligned with the conservative Tea Party movement.

His supporters also tend to be older people with higher incomes.
