The Shamrock
The main symbol associated with the holiday is the shamrock, a small three-leafed clover or clover-like plant. The shamrock is a national emblem of Ireland and is registed as a trademark by Ireland. It is said that St. Patrick used the shamrock to describe the holy trinity(father, son & holy ghost) to the druids who thought the plant to have mystic powers.Note: The Celtic harp, often called "Brian Boru's Harp", is the primary symbol for Ireland.
