A decision made Friday clears the way for a doctor of nursing practice at the University of Central Arkansas.

The Arkansas Department of Higher Education says the practice will start up in the summer of 2014.

The D.N.P. is a 36-hour practice-focused program and is offered as a post-master's nursing degree.

The coursework will be available online and students will attend advanced clinical training and capstone scholarly projects at practice sites.
