CDI Update: Letter from Federal Dept. Lays Claim to Property

By: Marci Manley, KARK 4 News
Updated: January 24, 2013
A federal department appears unwilling to allow a former Head Start provider to sell its assets, even as hundreds of former Arkansas employers are owed back wages.

That's according to a letter provided to KARK by Child Development Inc.'s attorney.

The Department of Health and Human Services is claiming ownership to property used by CDI. The non-profit planned to sell the property to pay  more than 400 employees who are owed a month's pay from last January.

Our requests for comment from the department have went unanswered.

How is it possible that the DHHS can lay claim to this property, when CDI has their stickers on every piece of property and has layed claim to this property. Something is not right with this and should be investigated further.
