Go Daddy Girl Ready to Interact with Fans During Bowl Game

Don't be surprised if the chant from the stands at this year's GoDaddy.com Bowl is "let's go social, let's go!" Go Daddy, the world's largest web hosting and domain provider, is sending its spokesperson superstar to lead the festivities at Sunday's GoDaddy.com Bowl, which includes a big social media campaign. Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick will lead the social charge on and off the field in Mobile, Ala. this weekend and is asking fans to tweet and post to Facebook using the hashtag #GoDaddyBowl.

Two #GoDaddyBowl field markings are being stamped in each red zone. Danica, NASCAR's Most Popular Nationwide driver, will also use the hashtag to help spectators get closer to the action, posting behind the scenes photographs and commentary.

"Social media is an excellent way to connect fans to not only sporting events like the GoDaddy.com Bowl, but the players and coaches too," said Go Daddy customer Hatton Weeks, who also serves as News Content Director of KAIT TV Jonesboro. "Everyone in the stadium or the millions watching on TV can experience the event in a personal, real-time way never thought possible before social media. Just a quick glance at Facebook or Twitter and you can tell Arkansas State fans and players are fired up for the GoDaddy.com Bowl!"

Danica, who has been in more Super Bowl commercials than any other celebrity in history, is also serving as the Grand Marshal for the GoDaddy.com Bowl Parade and will be on the field for the coin toss and trophy presentation, as well.

"I am planning to tweet photos to my friends and followers," Danica said.  "Social media is such a great way to share the experience and engage with fans. It's sort of like the game, a live event where you aren't sure exactly what's going to happen. I want to hear from football fans, especially the ones who are Go Daddy customers -- we're on the same Go Daddy team, no matter who you are rooting for in the Bowl."

Forty-thousand passionate fans are expected to fill the stadium to cheer on their team at this year's GoDaddy.com Bowl game, which pits Mid-American and Sun Belt Conference teams against each other in Mobile. This year Kent State University (11-2, 8-0) faces Arkansas State University (9-3, 7-1). This is Kent State's first college bowl game in 40 years. Arkansas State University is back for a second time, after being defeated by Northern Illinois last year.

"We are really excited to have one of our clients playing in the GoDaddy.com Bowl," said Go Daddy customer Serge Knystautas, CEO of PrestoSports, a company that helps sports teams manage their online image. "Kent State had a fantastic football season and we plan to tweet using the hashtag #GoDaddyBowl ahead of the game to show our support and enthusiasm."

Go Daddy, the go-to choice for individuals and small businesses looking to leverage the power of the Internet, took over Bowl sponsorship in 2011.

"Just as Go Daddy is known for providing a great customer experience, we want fans of college football to have a great time watching our game," said GoDaddy.com Bowl President Jerry Silverstein. "Go Daddy is an outstanding partner -- they're always innovating and engaging."

Watch the GoDaddy.com Bowl live from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. Sunday at 8:00 p.m. CST. The game is televised nationally on ESPN.

Can't watch the game, but want to get in on the action? Look for tweets with #GoDaddyBowl from your computer or your smartphone.
