Original Story:
Benton Utilities workers continue to work around the clock to restore power to customers. Here's an update they posted this morning:
"The North Benton Substation is still down due to Entergy Arkansas losing a transmission line that transports electricity to it. Until this transmission line is repaired, customers serviced by this substation will be without electrical services. To give you a general idea of the area, this includes most of the city north of the interstate and a few customers south of the interstate. If & when we get a good estimated time frame, we will update you with that. (Areas included: Ftn Lake Apts, Summerwood, Dark Forest, Glenda, Ginger Longhills, Hartford Hills, River Oaks, Hidden Valley, Forest Heights, Wellington Point, Dogwood, Sharon Comm., Berwick Heights, Fox Ridge & Old Shenandoah)
Other outages in our area: Silica Hgts, S. Summit, Shady Ln, Cole, Pike, Kyle, Longview, Watts, Belaire, Edgehill, Golden Dr., Liberty, Crouch, Reed, Apache, DeSota Pl, Prysock, Back Side of Timbermist, Back Side of Spring Creek Village, Eagle Point Subdivision, Cedarhurst, Lakeview, Brownwood, Oak Creek Village. (I may not have noted every street, but this should give you an idea of what all is out)
We have also had numerous calls of limbs on lines and services pulled off of houses. If the power is still on, we are making tickets on the limbs on the lines to be worked, when power is restored. If your service has been pulled off of your house (box holding electric meter pulled away from house), you will have to get an electrician to repair that then call for a reconnect, and our guys will come and reconnect you.
We would like to remind each of you: If you see a line down, turn around. Always assume they are alive, this could save a life."
