Saturday, 1:00 p.m. Update:
Little Rock/s Solid Waste crews continue to pick up residential trash and will assign extra staff to each truck to pick up residential trash that is placed on the curb, if the trash cart is too full, according to a news release from the city of Little Rock.

Solid waste crews expect all routes to be caught up by Saturday.

Solid Waste crews will run Monday's routes on Monday.

With January 1, being a holiday, Solid Waste crews will operate on the holiday pick-up schedule next week. With the exception of Monday, all routes will be run one day late.

Friday, 4:30 p.m. Update:
Little Rock's solid waste crews report that Tuesday & Wednesday routes were collected on Thursday (12/27); however, only about 20% of the individuals on those routes placed their carts at the curb. On Friday, (12/28), Thursday routes were collected and once they were completed, staff returned to re-run the Tuesday and Wednesday routes. On Saturday, the Friday routes will be collected, and once again upon completion, staff will re-run the Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday routes to ensure that all garbage has been collected Staff reports that there are several North-sloping streets with large amounts of shade that they have not been able to access and that any streets with wires in the road or low-hanging limbs are skipped and placed on a list for pick-up when conditions improve. As of Friday, there were thirty-two (32) trucks in operation.

On Friday, Waste Management began collecting the Thursday recycling routes and if they complete the route, they will look at going back at picking up the Tuesday and Wednesday routes.

Friday, 6:00 a.m. Update:
The City of Little Rock released the following message concerning trash pick up:

"City garbage pick-up resumed today at 11:00 AM and City crews began picking up the Tuesday routes. If City crews encounter any hazardous routes, the locations will be added to a list and picked up when conditions improve. Crews will work through the weekend to ensure that all trash is picked up.

Waste Management is in the process of assessing the situation to determine when they will resume recycling pick-up."

Original Story:
The City of Little Rock's Public Works Department will be picking up trash over the next few days because of the snow storm.

Residents are asked to put their trash carts out one day later than their regular day.

Crews will be working overtime and through the weekend to get it all picked up.

Some carts may be on the curb for a couple of days before they are emptied.
