Patterson has been at the helm of Texas Christian since 2000, has led the Horned Frogs to nine conference championships in that time and this season became the university's all-time winningest coach.
His bowl record includes seven victories, including the 2011 Rose Bowl, and another appearance in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl as a non-automatic qualifier.
His 2010 team finished the year undefeated and were ranked second in both of the major polls.
The following season, after losing star quarterback Andy Dalton and 25 other seniors, the Horned Frogs became the first team to win three consecutive Mountain West titles after a victory over then fifth-ranked Boise State on the Broncos' blue turf.
So should Gary Patterson be at the top of "The List?"
