The race is not until Saturday, October 20th, but this Friday morning, there's a "Race Space" blessing and opening at the Pleasant Ridge Town Center on Cantrell Road.
It starts at 9:30.
Race for the Cure Race Space Blessing is to bless the space where the thousands of volunteers and participants will be working or visiting in the weeks and days leading up to the event. It is the on site registration for all categories of race participants, 5K, 2K, Competitive Run, Three Miles of Men, Kids for the Cure and Sleep in for the Cure. Participants can register and receive their shirt at the same time.
There's also a Race for the Cure Boutique located inside Race Space. It offers a large variety of breast cancer awareness merchandise for women, men, children and pets.
Firefighters from this year's 2013 Fired up for the Cure calendar (click here) will be at Race Space to personally sign their month in the calendar. Firefighters in this year's calendar are from Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, Russellville, Cabot, Conway and Mountain Home. The 2013 calendar is a new design featuring the firefighters in two poses: one dressed in a "GQ" look, and the other in the traditional firefighter mode.
