The University of Central Arkansas bears have been a division one school now for six years, and there have been plenty of on-the-field accomplishments for the bears but now it's the off-the-field improvements that are starting to take shape.

UCA moved into new athletic offices last week and also debuted 12 brand new suites. The suites were originally supposed to be on the west side of the stadium at a cost of about 13-million dollars, but by putting them on top of a dorm room it only cost 2.2 million dollars.

"I've been here for 13 years at the University and to see the physical changes and the advancements we've made in facilities it's a great credit to Dr Brad Teague and his staff, " says head football coach Clint Conque

"The image it provides for UCA now and continuing to step us into that perceived division one arena and this is just another step."

The suites have it all, refridgerator, microwave, lots of space, tables and chair to remind you of where you're at, tvs, and even drop screens to tone down the brightness outside...

Another big change that UCA hopes will give it a big home-field advantage to go along with the one they already have is the turf! The bears have yet to lose on their purple and grey striped field..certainly something that recruits take notice of...

"Honestly FCS programs don't get a lot of national play so we needed something to set us apart and it did and we still get some national attention due to the stripes," says Dr. Brad Teague, UCA Athletic Director.

The bears are using all of their new toys as a springboard to establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with not just in the southland conference, but in this region of the country.
