The topics will be the focal point of a visit from U.S. Senator Mark Pryor.
Sen. Pryor announced Wednesday that he will travel to three locations in the county.
At noon, Pryor will join the St. Francis Levee District Board for lunch in West Memphis, followed by a tour of the St. Francis Levee. In June, Pryor successfully defeated a proposal that would have required individuals to purchase flood insurance simply because they live behind a levee, dam or other flood control structure.
At 2:30, Pryor will meet with local elected officials in Marion to discuss current events, local projects, and other issues affecting Crittenden County.
At 4:00 p.m., Pryor will present the city of West Memphis with a $10.9 million TIGER IV grant to expand rail infrastructure at the West Memphis Port and create jobs in northeast Arkansas. Following the presentation, Pryor will tour the future site of the project.
At 6:00 p.m., Pryor will honor Marion Berry for his service at the Marion Berry Tribute Dinner at Southland Park in West Memphis.
