Updated: August 21, 2012
Mid-South Community College will dedicate its newest facility, the $9 million Marion Berry Renewable Energy Center, on Friday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The building, located on the east side of College Boulevard in West Memphis on MSCC's North Campus, is named in recognition of the Honorable Marion Berry, the longtime First District Congressman who fueled efforts to direct more than $55 million to Eastern Arkansas for educational and economic development.

A ticket-only tribute dinner for Congressman Berry will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Southland Park Gaming and Racing Event Center. Proceeds from the event will go toward establishing the Marion Berry Scholarship at the College.

The Marion Berry Renewable Energy Center provides a world-class facility to support entrepreneurs, workforce training, and applied research in the utilization of renewable agricultural outputs to create value chains which support creation of new businesses and jobs across the region.
