The Jonesboro Police Department has released the dash cam video from the night Chavis Carter was arrested.
The 21-year-old was arrested for a warrant out of Mississippi on July 29, then reportedly shot himself after being searched, handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car.
The video, which was made available with a news release issued by Jonesboro police, also contains witness interviews.
Regarding the release of the witness interviews, the release says, "We recognize that when witnesses are forthcoming in a high profile public case, they do so at the risk of an invasion of their privacy and potential intimidation. We strongly encourage people to respect the position these citizens have been placed in, and to discourage any such harassment or intimidation."
