By: Jessica Ward
Updated: September 17, 2012
Crews will perform a chip sealing operation on Highway 270 in Grant and Jefferson counties, which will requiring moving lane closures next week, according to officials with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.

The work is scheduled on Highway 270 in the vicinity of Hardin in Jefferson County and in extreme eastern Grant County, near the Jefferson County line.

The work will require one of the available travel lanes to be closed temporarily during the day, utilizing a moving lane closure.

The moving lane closures are scheduled for Monday, July 23rd and Tuesday, July 24th.

Due to the possibility of loose gravel in the travel lanes, motorcyclists should take additional care while traveling through the project area.

The moving lane closure's pilot car will be able to periodically pull off the road to allow the following traffic to pass by.

Motorists are encouraged to utilize patience through the construction zone.
