UPDATE: July 23, 2012 According to the Perry County Sheriff's Office, Dale Young, Nick Saunders, and Melissa Ward are being held without bond for the Murder of 61-year-old Donna Young of Houston, AR.Young, Saunders, and Ward were all charged with Capital Murder for the death of 61-year-old Donna Young of Houston, AR on Friday.
Three people charged with Capital Murder today in Perry County for the death of a 61-year-old Donna Young of Houston, Arkansas. The Sheriff's Office says there was a visible wound to her neck but they're waiting for the official cause of death from the autopsy. One of the three arrested for her murder is her Son-in-Law, Dale Young.
On Tuesday, Young's daughter, Tammy Young, reported the 61-year-old missing from her home in Houston.
Sheriff Scott Montgomery says during their search of Young's property they noticed something strange. The victim had left all her things behind. Essentials like her dentures., pocket book and medication.
That's when Arkansas State Police became involved. They started by questioning the last 3 people to see Young alive. They questioned her Son-in-Law Dale Young and his two co workers Nick Saunders and Melissa Ward.
"During that interview they pointed their fingers at each other, " says Montgomery.
According to authorities, Young failed his polygraph when questioned about his involvement in the disappearance, but the Sheriff says it was Saunders who broke first.
"Last night he finally confessed that he hauled Ms. Young's body off."
Investigators found Young's body five miles from her home, dumped on the side of the road. An elderly woman with health problems, neighbors tell investigators she kept to herself.
So far no motive for the murder. Investigator's say they don't believe Tammy Young, had any involvement in her mother's death.
