New PCSSD Teacher Contracts Arriving Friday

By: Brittney Johnson
Updated: May 9, 2012
Pulaski County Special School District teachers are set to get their new contracts Friday.

A total of 77 employees are being cut while the district trims down to state standards. That's just one of many changes to teacher and staff contracts after months of failed negotiations with the district.  The district de-certified the unions, now PCSSD is making cuts to next year's budget by shaving money from teachers' salaries and continuing education courses.

Teachers will also lose two work days.

The unions took their case to court, where they are fighting to be recognized by the school district.
