A 17-hit attack carried the Texas State Bobcats to a 14-5 victory over the University of Central Arkansas Bears on Sunday and gave them a sweep in the Southland Conference series at Bobcat Ballpark.

The Bobcats (23-16, 11-10) scored runs in six different innings and took advantage of four UCA errors. The Bears (16-20, 10-11) scored five times on just six hits, with shortstop Kraig Kelley finishing 2 for 3. Sophomores Jonathan Davis and Logan Moon had 2 RBI each for the Bears.

Davis had an RBI single and Forrestt Allday added a sacrifice fly to give the Bears a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, but the Bobcats scored four in the bottom of the inning and never trailed again. The Bears got another run in the fifth when Garrett Brown walked and eventually scored on Davis' groundout.

The Bears got two more in the eighth when pinch hitter Nick Rougeau reached on an error, Ethan Harris singled and both scored on Moon's base hit.

UCA had gone five consecutive games without an error before Sunday. The Bears are now 0 for 9 in games played in San Marcos.

UCA starter Ryan Angus (3-5) took the loss, allowing 4 earned runs in 2.1 innings. Texas State starter Kyle Finnegan (5-3) went 7.2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs for the victory. TSU's Garrett Mattlage went 4 for 6, while Colby Targun was 3 for 4 and Jeff McVaney was 3 for 5.

The Bears play at No. 23 Texas at 6 p.m. Tuesday before returning home to host UTSA in SLC play on the weekend.
